What if I can’t make my appointment and need to re-schedule?

Please call us as soon as you realize you will not be able to keep your appointment. We ask that all cancellations be made at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will allow us to offer another patient this open appointment time.

Do I need a referral to see Dr. Liberman?

It depends. Many health plans do not require a referral from your PCP. Medicare patients do not require referrals. If there is a question, we recommend that you call your insurance provider.

Do I need blood tests performed before I see Dr. Liberman?

While we do not require blood tests prior to the visit, it is often helpful to have more data to review at the visit, leading to a more in depth conversation.

Where do I get my blood samples taken?

For the convenience of our patients, we offer in-office phlebotomy (blood draws).

I’ve had side effects with medications in the past. Is Dr. Liberman going to force me to be on one?

Our philosophy is based on a foundation of listening to you. We will never “force” you to do anything. We will always have a conversation with you about all the potential options for treatment or diagnosis, and collaboratively decide on a plan.

Independent Practice

My PCP works for one of the local systems. Will they be able to view Dr. Liberman’s notes?

Yes. WCA uses eClinicalWorks, an electronic medical records (EMR) program that communicates seamlessly with EPIC, the EMR platform employed by all local hospital systems.

If I am hospitalized, who will take care of me?

Dr. Liberman maintains affiliations with the major local health systems and hospitals, including Aurora Grafton and Ascension Columbia-St.Mary’s Hospitals. As your cardiologist, he will coordinate and work closely with the inpatient care team.

If I need a procedure, where will it be performed?

Dr. Liberman will discuss with you the optimal locations tailored to your needs, as some systems are better equipped for select procedures

If I need a procedure, who will perform it?

Dr. Liberman is a Non-Invasive Cardiologist and does not perform invasive procedures or surgeries. He has, however, strong relationships with surgeons and interventional cardiologists in every system. He will discuss with you who would be the best for your unique situation.

Do you offer after-hours care?

If you are having a life threatening emergency call 911.

WCA offers convenient early morning and select evening hours. An answering service handles after hours calls.

  • For urgent needs, Dr. Liberman or another provider on call will return your call within 15 minutes.
  • For non-urgent needs, the care team will return your call the next business day.

Financial Questions

Does Wisconsin Cardiology Associates accept insurance?

Yes. We are able to accept almost all insurance plans

Does Wisconsin Cardiology Associates accept cash?

There are many reasons why a patient might want to pay directly for a visit or a procedure, rather than go through insurance. As a result, WCA also offers “cash” prices for all procedures and visits.

How does the price of diagnostic tests at Wisconsin Cardiology Associates compare to hospital-based testing?

WCA is able to offer the exact same procedures and tests performed in the hospital, on the exact same equipment that the hospitals use, typically at a far more affordable price because we don’t have the overhead that large hospitals do.

What if I want some blood tests that aren’t covered by insurance?

The relationships we have with diagnostic lab companies allows us to offer a wide range of available tests as an affordable price.

My doctor ordered a stress test or an echo and I have a high deductible. Can it be done at WCA?

Absolutely. We have the exact same equipment that the hospitals use, and Dr. Liberman is Board-Certified in Echocardiography and in Nuclear Cardiology. Additionally, the cost through insurance for these tests at WCA is significantly less than at the hospital.
